Values and Principles
In order to become a TOURISM THAT CARES affiliate, our members subscribe to the following values and principles.
They are committed to the following values and principles that pertain to the TOURISM THAT CARES international movement:
- We value tourism sector service providers engaging with neighbouring poor communities, in order to do their part in alleviating poverty.
- We value creating awareness amoungst tourists to use caring tourism service providers, rather than those who ignore the needs of the poor in their neighbouring communities.
- We value sowing time, talent or finances directly into charities that are engaging in the empowerment of local poor communities.
- We value tourists giving at least 10% of their time to engaging with a charity or NGO during their holiday in Africa.
- We value a holistic and sustainable developmental approach empowering local communities and increase individual and institutional capacities.

- We value service excellence by empowering our staff.
- We value the richness of talent and potential within poor and marginalized communities.
